The Chocolate Cafe
The Chocolate Cafe

Local entrepreneurs, Paul and Emma Morris of Bolton Road West are set to launch their new café venture after trading a life on the French Riviera for a career serving speciality teas, coffees, light lunches and chocolate themed delights at their new premises on Bolton Street, in Ramsbottom’s former market place.

The Chocolate Café, set to open in mid-May, is the latest project for the husband and wife team who sold their thriving property management business on the French Riviera last year to set-up business in Emma’s hometown.

The couple spent two years in France running a business helping ex-pats to manage, maintain and rent out their holiday homes.  The firm on the Cote D’Azure was successfully sold earlier this year to fund their dream to return home and offer their business expertise to the local area.

Before leaving for France, Paul trained as a baker and Emma worked in the hospitality industry, which will come in handy for the business, as the Chocolate Café will make many chocolate products on site and will pride itself on attentive customer service.  The café, which also features a downstairs delicatessen, has a designated buggy “parking area” and spacious baby changing facilities to cater for customers with young children.

Offering over 30 speciality teas, in addition to locally sourced produce and a takeaway lunch service for local businesses.  The café will also be licensed and have an outside terrace area for summer dining – influenced by the couple’s love of France’s pavement café culture.

Says Paul: “We are looking forward to welcoming our first customers in the next few weeks.  We have put a lot of effort into making sure that the premises and menu will appeal to local diners.  Even though we enjoyed our time in France, it’s great to be back in Lancashire.”
